Abstract

This study aims to prove the effect of mastery of sentence structure and emotional intelligence simultaneously on expository writing skills in MA students in Karawang Regency. 2The effect of emotional intelligence on expository writing skills in MA students in Karawang Regency. The effect of mastery of sentence structure on expository writing skills in MA students in Karawang Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method by collecting data directly from respondents through the use of questionnaires. The population in this study were all 516 students of class XI MA in Karawang Regency. The researcher used a simple random sampling technique for sampling. Based on the calculation results with the Taro Yamane formula, a sample of 84 respondents was obtained. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. Based on the results of the partial test, it shows that there is a simultaneous effect of mastery of sentence structure and emotional intelligence on expository text writing skills. There is a significant positive effect of mastery of sentence structure on expository text writing skills. There is a significant positive effect of emotional intelligence on expository text writing skills.
