Analisis Nilai Pendidikan Karakter dan Nilai Sosial dalam Novel Sang Pemimpi Karya Andrea Hirata dan Novel Janji Karya Tere Liye

Abstract


The research aims to: 1) To find out the value of character education in the novel Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata and the novel Janji by Tere Liye. 2) To find out the social value in the novel Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata and the novel Janji by Tere Liye. 3) To find out the implications of character education values and social values in the novel Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata and the novel Janji by Tere Liye in Indonesian language learning class VIII Internat Al Kausar Junior High School. The method used in this research is qualitative research using descriptive qualitative. The results showed: (1) There are character education values in the novel Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata and the novel Janji by Tere Liye, among others, religious values, creativity, discipline, hard work, cooperation, responsibility, tolerance, caring, friendly/communicative, and curiosity. (2) There are social values found in the novel Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata and the novel Janji by Tere Liye, among others, caring, discipline, empathy, devotion, justice, helping, loyalty, kinship, tolerance, and cooperation. (3) There are implications of character education values and social values from the novels Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata and Janji by Tere Liye in grade VIII Indonesian language learning, namely as teaching materials for review text material because both contain character education values and social values that are relevant for strengthening student character.
