Pengaruh Penguasaan Kosakata dan Tata Bahasa terhadap Pemahaman Teks Eksplanasi

Abstract


This research aims to prove 1) The effect of mastering vocabulary and grammar together on the understanding of Explanatory Text for grade VII students at SMPN West Jakarta. 2) The influence of vocabulary mastery on the understanding of explanatory text for grade VII students at SMPN West Jakarta. 3) The influence of grammar mastery on the understanding of explanatory text for grade VII students at SMPN West Jakarta. The method used in this research is a survey method with a correlational approach to multiple linear regression statistics with a sample of 83 students. The results of the research show: 1) There is a significant influence on mastery of vocabulary and grammar together on the understanding of Explanatory Text for grade VII students at SMPN West Jakarta. This is proven by the value Sig = 0.000 < 0.05 and Fcount = 283.768. 2) There is a significant influence of vocabulary mastery on the understanding of Explanatory Text for grade VII students at SMPN West Jakarta. This is proven by the value Sig = 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount = 9.310. 3) There is a significant influence of grammar mastery on the understanding of Explanatory Text for grade VII students at SMPN West Jakarta. This is proven by the value Sig = 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount = 13.249.
